Sweetened the smart way

Sweetened with monk fruit — not sugar

All the sweetness, none of the crash. We sweeten with monk fruit — a plant-sourced sweetener with a glycemic index of zero — plus the sugar alcohols isomalt & erythritol and prebiotic inulin fibre, so every bar tastes like real chocolate without spiking blood glucose.

Monk Fruit & Isomalt

Monk fruit is plant-sourced with a glycemic index of zero, and isomalt barely registers either — all the sweetness, none of the spike.

Inulin, a Prebiotic Fibre

≥6g of fibre per bar slows digestion and softens how the remaining carbs reach your bloodstream.

No Added Sugar, Ever

We never add cane sugar or syrups — only the ≤2g natural sugar already in cacao and milk.

How ZoRaw stacks up, per bar

The numbers matter, but so does taste — a bar you won't finish doesn't help anyone.

Net carbs & glycemic index

The two numbers that decide what reaches your bloodstream

Net carbs = total carbs − fibre − sugar alcohols. Fibre like inulin and sugar alcohols like isomalt and erythritol pass through digestion slowly and barely raise blood glucose, so we subtract them out — that's why a ZoRaw bar counts as only ≤3g net despite a bigger total-carb number on the label.

What ZoRaw uses — near-zero GI Zero-GI, but not in our bars Raises blood sugar

The sweetener matters just as much. Monk fruit has a glycemic index of zero, so unlike cane sugar (GI 65) or even maltitol (GI 35–50, the sweetener in most "sugar-free" chocolate), it sweetens every bar without touching your blood glucose at all.

Less glucose released, and none of it from a high-GI sweetener — together that's what keeps the rise gentle, with no hard crash after.

Blood sugar chart is an illustrative pattern based on the glycemic index of each sweetener, not clinical measurement. *Maltitol is the sweetener in most "sugar-free" chocolate; GI values are typical published figures.

From our founder

“I was diagnosed with diabetes myself, and giving up chocolate was never going to happen — so I made my own. Sweetened with monk fruit instead of sugar, ZoRaw is the bar I needed when I was first diagnosed: real cacao, real indulgence, and none of the compromise.”

Frequently asked

Our bars have no added sugar and ≤3g net carbs, sweetened with monk fruit and isomalt instead of cane sugar. Many people managing diabetes enjoy them as an occasional treat — but everyone responds differently, so check with your doctor or dietitian about how it fits your plan.

Monk fruit extract — a plant-sourced sweetener with a glycemic index of zero — plus isomalt, a sugar alcohol, and inulin, a prebiotic plant fibre. All of them are absorbed with little to no effect on blood glucose, unlike cane sugar.

No — we never claim "sugar-free." Our bars have no added sugar; the small amount of natural sugar (≤2g) comes from the cacao and milk themselves.

In large amounts, sugar alcohols like isomalt can cause mild digestive discomfort in some people. We recommend starting with a square or two to see how your body responds.
